Mr. P Radhakrishnan established Radha Group of Hotels in 1985, starting with a modest 27-bedroom hotel located in Neyveli Township.
Born in an agricultural family in the year 1933 and enduring all the hardships that go with it, Mr. Radhakrishnan was always interested in learning and helping others make a living.
This first hotel was a steep learning curve. The success of this hotel resulted in the setting up of four more hotels in the southern part of India.
The 91-bedroom three-star hotel was built along the 100 feet road (Jawaharlal Nehru Salai), Arumbakkam, Chennai. This hotel opened as Radha Park Inn and now operates as Radha Regent (part of sarovarhotels.com managed hotels), establishing itself as the premier destination for accommodation and food and beverage needs in this area. The hotel has a storied reputation for its food and beverage and banquet facilities. Offering value for money, the hotel needs advance reservations for the limited number of guest rooms available.
With a keen eye for future growth and the foresight to recognise emerging opportunities, Radha Hotels opened its 3-star property, Radha Hometel comprising of 102 bedroom in Whitefield, Bangalore, Karnataka. This was the first hotel of Sarovar Hotels. It has established itself as a budget hotel for cost-conscious IT companies.
Radha Hotels expanded its footprint by opening a 104-bedroom 3-star property, Radha Regent, in Electronics City, one of Bengaluru's largest and most rapidly developing information technology hubs. This hotel caters to a niche market where the Indian IT behemoths Infosys and Wipro have headquarters.
Feathers, the first luxury five-star hotel of the Radha group of hotels, was set up in Mt. Poonamalaee Road in Manapakkam, Chennai.
